ICE 1255 Computer Graphics (Undergraduate course)

This course aims at providing a broad introduction to the field of Computer Graphics. Topics include geometric objects and transformation, viewing, shading, rendering, modeling, texture mapping, animation and visualization. Through a series of programming assignments, students will become familiar with interactive 2D and 3D graphical display concepts.

ICE 1355 Computer Animation (Undergraduate course)

This course is designed to cover both the theory and practice of the 3D computer graphics techniques focusing on modeling and rendering. Students will develop an interactive 3D computer game to practice the theories and techniques covered in class and during the lab sessions.

  • Augmented Reality in Entertainment and Beyound - Seokyeol Kim
    • Augmented Reality is a variation of Virtual Reality, and it can be thought as the middle ground between virtual and real. This paper introduces about Augmented Reality and its technical features such as hybrid tracking method and wearable computer system. Also it presents the applications of Augmented Reality mainly belonging to entertainment part.

  • Interactive Intent Based Non-Photorealistic Rendering System - Yeseul Park
    • Non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) system gets non-photorealistic images such as creative results of human to represent subjective images with graphic contents. Using this technical issue, she provided an application of NPR that represents painterly animation representing artistic styles of drawing. First, encoding video images as an input sequence should be prepared and then she has done with video image-processing by using specific library, OpenCV is operated in real-time. To make a painterly video, she analyzed edge features and extracted them. And then they are covered and in design pattern of stroke, color and edge representation. Therefore, converted video is represented into the screen by one projector and the results output video images simultaneously in expression of NPR.

ICE 0609 Computer Graphics (Graduate course)

This course provides a fundamental understanding of essential concepts of 3D interactive computer graphics. Focusing on 'real-time rendering'techniques, we will learn the graphics rendering pipeline, transformation, shading, lighting, image-based rendering, and acceleration and optimization algorithms. Other topics include non-photorealistic rendering, some modeling issues of geometric data representation, and collision detection. Students are expected to complete various programming assignments with OpenGL and a technical paper presentation in class.
